About the software
Batch xFader can accomplish all of these tasks as a batch process on the selected folder of WAVs very quickly. It supports x64 Windows and is a Mac Universal Binary & so natively supports both Silicon and Intel Macs.
This update adds single cycle export for files that have midi Note number assigned either in the smpl chunk or somewhere near the end of the filename (a dash followed by 3 digits ie; ‘-036’).
It also improves on looping with some effort to avoid phase cancellation by using zero crossings and if midi note info is found, it will quantise the loop length to multiples of the correct single sample size for that frequency. Additionally, as these improvements may allow some material to loop well without a cross-fade, the xFade can be bypassed by setting the slider to zero. The kind of material that this would work with would be fairly constant recording such as steady oscillators.
The main features of Homegrown Sounds Batch xFader are:
- Creating a sustain loop
- Cross fading the loop so it loops seamlessly
- Trimming any space at the start
- or trimming all/most space at the start
- Creating a short fade in at the start to avoid any non zero-crossing clicks
- Deleting all data after the loop section which is not usually used
- Converting Stereo to Mono
- Converting to multiple formats
