How to Find Your PC Specs on Windows 11

Knowing your PC specs helps you know which software and games can run on your system and with what performance.

If you’re unsure what kind of processor or graphics card your computer has, you may end up with a game that’s too demanding for your system. This can lead to performance issues and even crashes.

This guide will show you how to check your PC specs (all of them!) on Windows 11.

Using System Properties

System Properties is one of the easiest ways to find your basic PC specs on Windows 11.

1. Right-click the This PC icon on your desktop and select Properties.

   

2. This will open a window showing your basic system information, including your processor, installed memory (RAM), and more.

   

Using the Settings App

1. Click the Start menu and select the Settings icon.

   

2. Go to System > About.

   

3. This will open a window with your PC specs.

   

Using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool

The DirectX Diagnostic Tool is a more advanced way to view your PC specs, including information on your graphics card and sound card.

1. Type “dxdiag” into the Start menu and select the top result.

   

2. The DirectX main window will open. Here, you can view information about your system, display, and sounds:
   System tab: information about your processor, operating system, memory, and more.
   Display tab: information about your graphics card, including driver version.
   Sound tab: information about your sound card.

   

Using System Information

System information is a feature that provides an overview of your hardware and software. You can use it to get a detailed report of your PC specs.

1. Type “msinfo32” into the Start menu and select the top result.

   

2. In the System Information main window, select System Summary on the left. This will provide a detailed list of your PC specs.

   

Using Task Manager

Task Manager is a Windows tool that displays detailed information about running applications, computer performance, and resource usage. You can use it to find your PC specs.

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
2. Select the Performance tab. This will show your CPU usage, memory usage, disk performance, and more.

   

3. Each tab will show you different information about your PC:
   CPU tab will show you information on your processor, including the number of cores and threads
   Memory tab will show you information on your RAM, including the type and speed
   Disk tab will show you information on your installed SDD or HDDs.

Using Command Prompt

Command Prompt allows you to execute programs, manipulate Windows settings, and access files by typing commands. You can use it to find out more about your PC specs.

1. Type “cmd” into the Start menu. Right-click the first result and select Run as an administrator.

   

2. In the Command Prompt window, type “systeminfo” and press Enter. This will generate a report of your PC’s specs.

   

Using Windows PowerShell

Windows PowerShell is another command-line tool that you can use to find your PC specs.

1. Type “powershell” into the Start menu. Right-click the first result and select Run as administrator.

   

2. In the PowerShell window, type “systeminfo” and press Enter. This will display a list of your PC’s specs.

   

Using Third-Party Applications

For free, you can install various third-party apps that give you reports about your computer specs. While we don’t recommend any particular one, here are popular ones being used:

Speccy

Speccy is a free program that you can use to check your computer’s specs.

1. Download and install Speccy from its official website.

   

2. Open Speccy and wait for it to scan your computer. After it’s done, you can view detailed information about your PC.
