Safe Mode is a Windows diagnostic mode where only the most essential apps and services are enabled. This may assist you in resolving problems on your PC and determining whether they are caused by third-party software.
If you’re having trouble leaving Safe Mode in Windows 11, follow these steps.
Restart your computer
The first thing you should try is to restart your computer. Typically, this will resolve the problem and get you out of safe mode. However, if you inadvertently modify System Configuration settings, you might be trapped in safe mode, which is where you should try one of the steps below.
System Configuration Tool
The System Configuration tool, also known as msconfig.exe, is a Microsoft utility used to change settings that affect how your computer starts. You can use it to exit safe mode.
- Press Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run box.
- Type “msconfig” and press Enter.
Type Msconfig. - Click the Boot tab at the top of the window.
Click the Boot tab. - Under Boot Options, uncheck the box next to Safe boot.
Uncheck the box next to Safe boot. - Click Apply and then click OK.
Click Apply and then click OK. - When you see the message, You may need to restart your computer to apply these changes, click Restart.
Command Prompt
- Search for “Command Prompt” in the search box. Right-click it and select Run as administrator.
Run cmd as administrator. - Type the following command and press Enter:
bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot
Run the command. - Restart your computer. You should now be able to boot normally.
Advanced Startup Settings
Advanced Startup Settings menu is a list of advanced troubleshooting options designed to help you fix issues with your computer. You can use this menu to exit safe mode.
- Restart your computer while holding down the Shift key.
- A blue menu with several options will appear. Click Troubleshoot.
Click Troubleshoot. - Go to Advanced Options > Startup Settings.
Go to Advanced Options > Startup Settings. - Click Restart.
Click Restart. - A menu with several options will appear. At the bottom, you will see the option Press Enter to return to your operating system. Press Enter.
Press Enter. - Your computer will restart and exit safe mode.
